I am Iris. I am a lifelong student, devoted to yoga.

I worked as a vocational therapist and a case manager for people with brain injuries for many years while also developing and running a successful massage therapy practice. I transition into Yoga Therapy after seeing it’s many benefits in my students and my own life.

Currently I am a student of sound. Learning and offering the healing potential of sound instruments and the use of one’s own voice as the most profound healing tool!

My Philosophy

Spanda is an ancient Sanskrit word that translates to "throb," "vibration," or "pulsation." In the yogic tradition, Spanda refers to the inherent pulsating energy that underlies all of creation. It represents the dynamic and ever-changing nature of the universe, constantly expanding and contracting. Spanda is not limited to physical vibrations, but also encompasses emotions, thoughts, and spiritual essence. It is the subtle rhythm that resonates within every being and connects us to the cosmic dance of life. By cultivating an awareness of Spanda, we can tap into our inner vitality, embracing the vibrant and interconnected existence we are privileged to experience.

Tantric yoga includes sound awareness as part of it’s experiential practices. It is a holistic approach to living life, incorporating asana, breathwork, meditation, and energy awareness. It aims to awaken the dormant spiritual energy within, known as Kundalini, and channel it through the chakras for self-realization and enlightenment. By using various sound tools like Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, gongs, or chanting, the vibrational frequencies penetrate the cells of the body, releasing energetic blockages and promoting deep relaxation. Sound healing as a yogic practice, can offer a profound experience of inner peace, connection, and holistic well-being, similar to meditation. Through these practices, individuals can tap into their innate potential, heal past traumas, and live in the presence of the own Pure Awareness.
